My Chinese Tutor - Finding the Right Way to Learn Chinese
My Chinese Tutor - Finding the Right Way to Learn ChineseA Chinese tutor is a necessity for all working Chinese language students. For most students, finding a teacher to help them learn Chinese is almost as difficult as finding the right way to study the language. It is possible to learn the language through books and lessons but the actual practice of speaking and reading in Chinese is something that most students have to learn on their own. The problem is that these tips are often not very clear or easy to follow for most students.Unfortunately there are no quick or easy solutions for learning the language either but a lot of practice and hard work can really help to find the right way to speak and read Chinese. Using the right words and grammar will not be enough, your way of doing things may not suit your personality, style or home environment. In order to find the correct way to learn Chinese, you need to look for the best options available for you. There are numerous resources available online today to help you with your language learning. If you are interested in joining an online course to help you learn the language then there are many that offer English speaking online courses. This means that you can receive direct access to your teacher via online chat while studying. One other benefit is that you are able to practice speaking Chinese with your own local classmates. If you are someone who would prefer to learn the language at home, then one option is to join a Mandarin Chinese home study course. This is when a teacher lives in your local area with you to help you learn. While this may be a lot of fun, it may not be suitable for everyone's lifestyle or family situation.Another option is to take an online Mandarin course offered by a private tutor. These tutors will be able to show you how to communicate in Chinese from the convenience of your own home. As well as helping you learn the language and improving your chances of finding a job, they will als o be able to help you learn Chinese culture and increase your confidence in speaking the language. The only way to know which Chinese tutor is right for you is to ask for a recommendation and research their background. Many students make the mistake of hiring a Chinese tutor without first checking their credentials and experience. You should compare the different ones to find one that fits your personal needs and lifestyle. If you find a Chinese tutor that you like and that has helped you with your Chinese, then keep using that tutor, even if you later change your mind and want to switch back to an English-speaking tutor.

There have been many debates on why women are often underrepresented in the male-dominated science, technology, engineering and math fields (STEM). According to one recent study, girls across the globe are experiencing more âmath anxietyâ than boys, resulting in negative emotions and overall avoidance of math topics. Whatâs even more concerning? Itâs affecting all girls. Even in countries with higher gender equality. You must be wondering, why? Scientists arenât sure, but signs are pointing towards social conditioning. The result? The class exposed to the stereotype performed noticeably worse on math tests than the controlled class. 5 Ways to make the Best out of Online Study Materials
5 Ways to make the Best out of Online Study Materials Tips from a Private Orange County Tutor: 5 Ways to make the Best out of Online Study Materials Tips from a Private Orange County Tutor: 5 Ways to make the Best out of Online Study Materials Whether youâre studying for the SAT or for a classroom course, online study materials are a major part of a studentâs life. There are many advantages to online study, including the convenience and accessibility factor but there are also some disadvantages. There are pop up ads left and right and some online sources simply arenât reputable. Look at these tips for a great online study experience. 1. Avoid distractions Distractions are ever present when studying online. Pop up ads inviting students to check out a blog about their favorite celebrity and ad boxes that cover up part of the paragraph they are trying to read are a constant distraction. Also, donât forget about the temptation to tab over to a social media site for âjust a minuteâ. During crucial study periods, use an app such as Self Control to force away temptation and practice visually blocking out ads (easier said than done). 2. Ask your tutor for help determining which sites are reputable Some online study tools are legitimate, up to date, and highly useful for students of all grade levels. Others, however, were written by a student from 2010 using a now out of date text edition. Additionally, do todayâs students know if that 2010 student received all As or if they flunked out? No, they donât. Avoid all student posts and focus on sites that are pre-approved by a tutor. Chances are the tutor transitioned to the Internet and learned over time how to search for legitimacy; newer tutors will have learned how to appropriately use online research methods in high school or college (READ: Tips From an Irvine SAT Tutor: The Free SAT Study Guide). 3. Determine your overall study needs Before logging in, itâs important to determine your overall study needs. Are you doing in depth research for a 10 page paper? Are you using a website that helps you study for the SAT step by step? Are you using an online organizational tool to help you study for a quiz? Research is generally the most difficult situation but rest assured that once the skill is mastered, it will make future study much easier and faster. Student researchers are encouraged to sit down with their tutor and ask for help getting organized. A few hours with a tutor can save dozens of hours each term. Students using a site such as Study Blue or Quizlet are encouraged to keep a paper copy of important notes. Based on Murphyâs Law, if there was ever a time for the Internet to crash it would be the night before the exam. 4. Use online tools in collaboration with in-person study Online study is fantastic and convenient but best conducted in conjunction with in-person study. Students who work with study groups get the advantage of multiple ideas and thoughts in this collaborative environment. Additionally, students who work within a group or with a tutor can make sure that everyone is on track and help each other avoid distractions. Donât worry, if students canât actually meet face to face, they can still get the benefits of collaboration through Skype or Google Hangouts study sessions (READ: 5 Signs You Need a Math Tutor). 5. Organize Wandering around the Internet without any particular goal or direction will usually take students way off their study path and lead to countless hours of wasted time. Students are encouraged to sit down for a few minutes and get organized before logging in. First, create an outline for study. Which topics need to be covered? Which ones are priorities? Which subjects require the most amount of time and which are most challenging? Next, students should think about their goals. For example, if studying for the SAT will todayâs study cover the reading section or does math need to be completed first? The actual measure of oneâs language acquisition takes place in the Netherlands, and only if the linguist has the pre-examination results in-hand.A measure of controversy surrounds this particular foreign language exam; not the least of which is that even the average Dutch native speaker cannot pass the pre-exam!The second, more likely exam would be the Staatsexamen Nederlands; a two-tier placement test suitable for foreign students wishing to study in the Netherlands.Programme 1 corresponds to CEFRLâs B1 level of language capability; Programme 2 is more advanced.Should you hope to live and undergo an apprenticeship in Amsterdam, the first exam should be sufficient; enrolling in a university or working would demand Programme 2 certification. Finally, and overall the most comprehensive exam to prove your linguistic ability is the CNaVT: the Certificate of Dutch as a Foreign Language. It is offered in 4 tiers:P TIT: Tourist and informal language level corresponds to Level A2 on the CEFRL scalePMT: equal to the CEFRL B1 language proficiency testPTHO means those candidates are proficient at the professional or university level; CEFRL level B2PAT: Level C1; an academicâs knowledge of the language and cultureAs you might have been preparing to sit A-Levels, your best match likely would be PMT or PTHO.On the other hand, if you have truly been diligent in your language course, your level of competence may be even higher!Learning a language is a lifelong endeavour, as you surely know.Very few people undertake language instruction purely for the learning experience; most people study language with a specific purpose in mind: a love of the culture, more job opportunities, relocation and the like.As you, like most others, are likely purpose-driven in your studies, it stands to reason that you would want a means to legitimise your linguistics and, in the absence of any such vehicle in your home cou ntry, it would be logical to seek such outlets abroad. And now, you know where to find them! Now you should turn to this list of revision materials tailored to your aims!
